                                                              Pocket before stuffed

                                                                           My Tags

Masculine Trinket Box is my second creation. I snagged a box from the dollar store,
covering the front only, taking advantage of the boxes original theme, I added vintage
photo corners, tiny glass bottle filled with sand and shells , die cut sticks, I am calling

Gecko Galz Welcome To Wonderland June 2020

Welcome Back Friends,

Robin here sharing my Welcome To Wonderland projects for Gecko Galz Blog. Summer is here, in my neck of the woods, Ohio, it has been pleasantly cool most days, with some rain here and there. enough for my garden and flowers to be beautiful. Which brings me to a thought of why I have never hosted a tea party in my gardens? I need to do that!

Alice in Wonderland has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. As I have aged, the book, means a whole different idea to me. As a girl, I always wished I had a rabbit, and had a chance to be late, LOL! As woman, I have discovered many truths in the story, about life. As I created I had a time of reflection and a chance to appreciate where I am today.

I used the ever creative Wonders Of Wonderland Craft Kit, chalked full of papers, digi set, and stamps!

A Top Hat  of course !

Vintage Botanicals Envelope Flip Book Geck Galz May 2020

Welcome Back Friends,

Robin here with Gecko Galz Blog, sharing a flip book made with envelopes and the beautiful images from college sheets, French Botanicals and Botanical Jems.

Here is what you need;
4 envelopes. score board.pattern paper, ink. 110 # stock for tags, corner rounder, adhesive, script embossing folder, swirls clips,  corner rounder, small velcro dot.

Here is what I did:  Score each envelope with flap open 1/4" pass the crease, fold each score to make a gusset on the envelopes. Apply adhesive to the inside of the flap up to the new crease, lay the envelope back of the next envelope on the flap, aligned with the new crease, continue till you have a flip book. Next, mat all the backs of the envelopes, inking edges with antique linen ink. Do the same on the inside back of the envelope, inking edges as you go. Cut images to add to the mats inking edges, and adhere. Next cut  4 tags to fit inside the envelopes, emboss with the script embossing folder, and the ink the tags. Cut 4 flags from your paper scraps, dove tail the ends, and ink edges.  Cut out your favorite 4 images from the college sheets, inking edges and adhere to the tag front, taking care to insert you flags under the image before burnishing down. Secure flag with with a circle clip for added interest. Cut one more image for the front of the flip book, adhere. Attach velcro dot under the flap.Slip the tags in the envelopes.
Special note, your mat sizes will depend on what size of envelopes you use.

I love how this flip book turned out and it perfect for showing off these beautiful images!

Be sure to check out the Gecko Galz Facebook page for Mays challenges.

Fly Free Altered Mix Media Paintbrush. GG April 2020

Welcome Back Friends,

Robin here sharing a project for Gecko Galz Blog,  Spring has sprung! I love hearing the birds early spring after a long quiet winter. I am a early riser and out the door most days early morning, it warms my heart to hear their beautiful song.

I feel in love with the Collage Sheet Fly Free, and was excited to work with such beautiful images!

Here is what you need:
Paintbrush
Paint
Sponge Brush
Lace
Small roses
Flat back pearls
Walnut Ink Stain
Leaf Die Cut
Berry Die Cut
Heat Tool
Hot Glue Gun
Fly Free Collage Sheet

Here is what I did"

I painted the paint brush here and and the bristles top and bottom. I carefully fried it with my heat tool. I hit the bottom of the bristles to not only dry, nut to give it a used look, as the bristles will melt and shrink a bit. I scratched paint off here and there to lend to the used loo.

I die cut leaves, berry twigs and fussy cut the images out I chose to use.

I rounded the corners and distressed the edges on the images.\

Assembly came next using a hot glue gun, add the lace, the die cut leaves and berry twigs, roses and flat back pearls. Viola! Done

Red Hot Mamas,Poolside Princess, and Beach Babes GG Feature Day 3/2020

Welcome Back Friends,

Today is my Feature Day on  Gecko Galz Blog, I am sharing three fabulous ATC's I created. Oh! I am sorry, I bet you thought you were going to see a blog about 3 hot girl bands! LOL

I love creating ATCs, little piece of art work, that is perfect for using your scrap box for inspiration. I  decided on a stair step technique to display my ATC's. I love how they turned out.

Tattoo Girl is from College Sheet, Red Hot Mamas! I Inked her edges, stamped the Navy seal on kraft and punched it out. Assemble the pieces for a one of kind ATC!

Next up is a beach theme stair step collection! These two are images come from two different collage sheets, Poolside Princess and Beach Babes. I stamped beach ephemera, fussy cut them out, assembled for a very unique ATC collection!

Fresh and Springy Tulips Altered Paint Brush

Welcome Back Friends,

Robin here with The Coffee Beans sharing a fresh and springy altered paintbrush. I used the beautiful Tulips digi stamp from our own Annie Collins which can be found on the Facebook Page The Multi Crafters Craft Cafe, go to photos, click albums, look for The Coffee Bean Stamp Machine, scroll till see the tulip set.

Supplies: Paintbrush, old and painty or a new one that can be painted up.
                Paint of your choice
                Foam brush
Lace, ephemera, embellishments, digi image, ribbon
                Hot glue gun

What I did: I painted my new brush, here and there. I painted the bristle of the brush to match, just the top layer and then along the bottom of the bristles.

Using a heat gun, I dried the brush top and sides. I then carefully hit the bristles with heat which then caused the bristle to melt and shrink a bit, making it looked like it had been used.

Then taking care I scrap paint off  here and then further adding to the used look.

I then colored my tulips using an eye make up applicator and distress oxide ink, starting at the bottom and blending up.

Using the glue gun I adhered the lace, arranged the tulips gluing down, added the ephemera, the ribbon for the hanger and there you have it!

Thank You for visiting and as always I appreciate your kind comments.

Until Next Time......

How to make a Steampunk Altered Paint Brush.

Welcome Back Friends,

Robin here with ScraPerfect Blog, sharing my altered paintbrush, I created using The Best Ever Glue,
the quick stick glue for paper crafting.

Supplies: The Best Ever Glue
                 Paintbrush
                 Foam Brush
                 Stamps of your choice
                 Card Stock - Kraft
                 Paint
                 Word die cut
                  Embossing powder
                 Hot Glue Gun
                 Heat Gun

Here is what I did: I started out by creating my background paper. I used a 12x 12 piece of heavy stock. Using the foam brush, I brushed in haphazard strokes,  the darkest of the 3 colors I choose.
A dark tan, let dry, brush on the second color, light beige, let dry. Lastly, I used a doily stamp I had dipped in gold paint and stamped the entire sheet. Let dry.  I cut out a tag from heavy stock and covered the tag with my background paper.

I painted the paintbrush and bristles. Using a hot gun I dried the brushes and the bristles, which gives the paintbrush a worn look.

I punched out a large oval from kraft and black polka dotted paper, adhered it to the tag. using The Best Glue Ever.

I stamped the hot air balloon on kraft paper, fussy cut it out and layered it over the oval.

I die cut the word journey out 4 times using kraft paper, stacked and glued them together using The Best Glue Ever, and then heat embossed the word. The word then adhered over the hot air balloon.

I stamped two pieces of ephemera onto the background paper, fussy cut them out.

I finished up by hot gluing all the pieces together for a very cool altered paintbrush!

Snow Maiden Vintage Clip Board

Welcome Back Friends,

I am excited to share  my Feature Day project with you for the Gecko Galz Blog. I am smitten with the beautiful images from Gecko Galz Etsy Store, I am like a kid in a candy store!

The beautiful image I used here on my vintage clip board is from the collage set Snow Maidens .
Isn't she beautiful???

I began my project by covering the clip board with patterned kraft paper. I then used a snow flake stencil with white gesso and stenciled on snow flakes. I trimmed my image, inked the edges, and inked the edges of the clip board. I adhered the image to the clip board, added the pearl on the clip. I then inked the edges of the chip board flourishes, and inked up the kraft snow flakes, and adhered them in place. I added a few gold flat back pearls and a sheer white bow with a few pearl headed straight pins, bringing the piece  together.
