Arty Diva Challenge Group Jan2023- Canvas Work

 Hello,

Welcome and Happy New Year! New year new challenges, be sure to get your craft own, and join us over at the Arty Diva Challenge Blog

! Fabulous prizes to be won from our sponsor for our blog, Lilli Rain Designs

New Year, New Challenges ! I have never worked with a canvas before, and vowed to add to my Design Team Tool Box this year!

I have to admit from a very structured designers point of view, this was a challenge for me and I welcomed it with unstructured point of view, hard, but I love what I created!

Here are the beautiful images I had to work with,

After adding layers to my canvas, I fussy cut out the images I chose to work with, added pop dots and adhered them to the canvas. Now came the fun part, embellishing! Anything goes in my book, as along as it fits the color scheme.

I added flowers, and bits of steampunk gears, as it fit the theme. I though the rough jute used as the hanger added a bit more texture that added to the finish project, Thoughts??

 Hello,

It my turn up on the Arty Diva Blog to share some inspiration, using what I have! It is always a good thing to make use of any supplies one has! I have to use, so I can buy more! LOL

I feel in love with reading when I was in Junior High School, nothing better then hunkering down under a blanket or in the air conditioning hiding from Ohio weather!

Using what I had, die cuts, digi images and loads of scrapbooking card stock, I crafter there bookmarks, which make me smile!

Check em out!!

These came together pretty easily and quickly, perfect little gift for a friend, a reader, and a random act of kindness!!

Gecko Galz Flutter into Spring with Spring Sparkly Kids

 Hello,

Spring hasn't not sprung yet in my neck of the woods, Northeast Ohio, it just snowed this past weekend, however, I am hopeful and celebrating spring with my two projects made for Gecko Galz.

I worked with this  wonderful collage set from Gecko Galz Etsy Shop,

I have created a "duster" as my Mom would call it. LOL I love to call it a "piece of Art!

Using a wood box from the Dollar Store, I turned it upside down and created a an outdoor  scene  with all beautiful kids! I hope you enjoy my piece of Art!

I punched out rows of grass, hot glued to the box on at a time, adhere the kids to back of the grass after fussy cutting them out, taking care to have the smaller ones up front, hence larger in the back. I filled in between the grass with reindeer moss. I crafter my Spring banner from bamboo skewers, ribbon, ribbon roses, string and the word Spring from the digi download.

I then covered the box with bits of woven lace, ribbon, and ribbon roses.

Thanks for vsiting,

Robin

Mon Cherie with Arty Divas Mini Junk Journal and Shrine

 Hello !

I have never been to Paris, but I would love to go! Have you been to Paris?? Everything I see or read always has such a love attached to it!!

I got my love affair on with Paris while creating the mini junk journal, making with the fabulous collection, Mon Cherie from, Lilli Rain Designs

Lilli Rain Designs is our fabulous sponsor this month over at Arty Diva Challenge Blog! Join us, and get your craft on, anything goes every month, prizes to be won!!

I created 2 projects, my first ever mini junk journal, and a simple, but fun shrine, using an upcycle thread spool.

I used a die cut kit to cut my mini journal pages,

I embellished my pages, with bits and pieces from the Mon Cherie kit, stamped some pages. collaged pages, don't forget to add clips, and ribbons to your journal, adds so much interest!

The black shiny speckles happen to nail art polish, the brush in the bottle is thin and tapered for the just perfect size speckles, plus it is a little shiny, for a different texture. Try It!

These pages are embellished with an image from the kit, I left this page as except for a few speckles, the image is so beautiful , I didn't have the heart to add to it! The next page was covered in paper from the kit, and then Stamped with numbers and one handsome gentleman!

I could not resist a little snark, to go with these 2 beauties, and I happen to have the flower and such in my box of goodies!

The last two pages here, the left was stamped and I added goodies from box. The very last page, was covered in paper from the Mon Cherie kit, embellished with with the clock and butterfly from the kit and few goodies I added.

I really enjoyed working the images from this beautiful kit! What will you create?

Coming up.... my second project I created with more pieces, yes, more pieces !! from the Mon Cherie kit!! I love upcycling items, that would other wise be tossed in the trash, It is a great way stretch your creative skill, and save you little patch of grass from one less item in the landfill.

I really love how this shrine came together! I covered a thread spool in one of the papers that came in the kit, added bits of lace trim. Fussy cut one of the butterflies to added to the center of the spool. I punched a circle to cover the top of the spool, added 1/2 of a chopstick, down the hole, added a dab of hot glue, and then cut a circle to cover the bottom. From there I created the card with bits and pieces from the kit, and then hot glued the card to the chopstick! Embellished with a few very small flat back pearls to finish it off. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Robin

The Daily Curse TMC4U Sept 2020

 Welcome Back Friends,

Robin here guesting for Taylor Made Cards 4 U. Imagine my excitement when I got the call to guest for Taylor Made Cards 4 U ! I love Monica's kits, vintage, unique, and enough pieces in each kit to create a one of kind project! I got to work with The Daily Curse Kit which can be found here.

Every family has their skeletons in the closet and family secrets. I knew from a very young age that my maternal Great Grandmother was different, fun, mysterious, and had something that was not talked about. She was fashionable, but not in the current trend, fashionable in her own way. Talented in all areas of hand crafts, knitting, crocheting, paper crafts, a DIY-er before her time. She was the live in interior decorator at the very handsome, and popular Portage Hotel located in the Rubber Capital, Akron Ohio.

As a young girl, she ran away with circus after it visited her home town, On the road with the circus hired as a costume designer, she found herself surrounded by mystics of all kinds. It was there she learned about her gift, Clairvoyance, the ability to see things that are not in sight. She learned to read tarot cards, tell fortunes, and maybe even dabbled in a little witch craft!

As  I created this project, I was inspired by my Great Grandmother's talents, bravery, independence, and knowing who she was, while smiling because my Mother has always told me, I am just like her.

Thank You for visiting and as always I appreciate your kind comments.

Until Next Time....

Sweet Spring Girl Decor, Gecko Giaz Feature Day Post May 2020

Welcome Back Friends,

Today is my feature day on the Gecko Galz Blog. Oh what fun I had with this project. I used a home decor piece found at Dollar Tree  The background is just perfect with the image I chose to use from  collage sheet,  Sweet Sprig Girls.

                                                                   Is't she beautiful?

Here's what you need:

Dollar Tree Home Decor piece of your choice
Ink
Lace
Pattern paper for tag
Scraps for die cutting leaves and such
Die cut leaves and such
Ribbon Roses
Flat back pearls
Adhesive

Here's what I did:

Ink of the edges and the background on the decor piece. Cut out the image, trace the tag shape on the back of patterned paper adhere  Ink all edges. Adhere the image to the tag , adhere the tag on the piece.
Die cut leaves and such. Adhere lace to the back of the frame. Arrange leaves and such, ribbon roses, and flat back pearls in the the right hand corner. Add a few single cut out of lace to finish off the arrangement.

Be sure to visit the Gecko Galz Challenge Group  for up coming challenges and join in the fun today!
