Upcycled Tins with Gecko Galz

 Welcome Back Friends,

It is my day on the Gecko Galz Blog. I wanted to share with you a cute project I made using the Retro Jewel It Set, to create a couple of catch all tins! These two tins sit on my dressing table, one holds pins to my hot rollers and the other is empty as of yet.

Isn't this set so darn cute??

Here's what I did, I cleaned up the tins, removing any adhesive and wiped them down and dried them. After printing out the images I wanted use. I punched out background paper to cover the top of the tin, then punch out the images I choose to use. Adhere the background paper and the image to the top of the tins. Here's where it gets fun, time to embellish! The sky's the limit here. You could run beads around the edge of the top, add flowers, pearls, ribbon, you name it! I added a thin layer of clear sealant on top of the tin for a little shine and protection from wear and tear.

Thanks for visiting, until next time....

Far East Fun with Gecko Galz

Hello and Welcome Back!

I have a couple very fun projects to share with you! Over on the  Gecko Galz Blog we are celebrating the Far East and all of its beauty!

Check out this very unique first project created using the Far East Fun Digitial Craft Kit

I followed general instruction for a Double Diamond Fold Card, using black card stock, a paper from the collection from the craft kit, one of the many images from the collection and then embellished with bits and pieces, and die cuts.

My second project has been made using the same craft kit mentioned and inspiration from hybrid school, while helping with home school on their unit people from around the world!  Paper Plate Fans!

After folding your small paper plate in half and gluing together, I dipped my plate in various colors of distress oxides mixed with water. Allow the plate to dry completely. Cut out and adhere the image chosen. Next apply embossing ink started with you first color near the top, sprinkle powder and heat with the heat gun. Continue till you like your colors, and then embellish with bit of pearl, chain and don't forget the tassel  and chop sticks for handles!
